An Introduction to Sound Resonance

An introduction to Sound Resonance and the healing effects of the gong
What is Gong Therapy

"Envision the human body as a divine instrument with strings. Composed of seventy-two surs or strings, our Crown Chakra - the thousand-petal lotus - influences each of these strings with a thousand-fold vibration. As a result, there are 72,000 vibratory impacts that send energy throughout our system. These vibrations shape us physically, emotionally, and mentally. When the gong is played, the vibration of the strings causes all thirty trillion cells of the body to resonate and dance, forming patterns that release blockages preventing the cosmic pulsation from flowing freely through our being. Within this creative cosmic flow, we find fulfillment, harmony, and love." - Harijiwa.

The universe comprises sound and vibration, with everything in and around us vibrating at a frequency.

My introduction to the powerful effects of sound healing came through Kundalini Yoga, where chanting and mantras played a significant role. Each individual possesses a unique voice and vibration. By tapping into your vibration, you activate and stimulate energy, connecting and awakening to your true essence.

Science has demonstrated that frequency can adjust our internal state's chemical composition and regulate brain-hemisphere imbalances. Additionally, frequency and sound vibration balance the nervous system and the endocrine system, normalizing hormone production, which in turn balances our moods and overall sense of well-being.

Throughout my years as a Kundalini Yoga student, I experienced the profound effects of gongs used in Savasana (a period of relaxation and reflection at the end of a session) or alongside a specific Kriya. The sound and vibration resonance deepened my practice, leaving me grounded and fulfilled.

While living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I had the opportunity to attend Master Gong Training under the guidance of Yin Xiong, Gong Master. This experience added a new dimension to my practice of Kundalini Yoga and Ayurveda by incorporating sound resonance, creating a seamless connection between modalities.

Vibration or Sound Resonance Therapy is founded on the idea that dis-ease is characterized by blockages in energy channels on some level. When a blockage occurs, the affected organ or system ceases to vibrate at a healthy frequency, leading to disease. Sound vibrations can help soften, break up, dissolve, and release these blockages, restoring a healthy state of being where each cell and organ resonates harmoniously with the entire being.

The Gong offers a deeply relaxing and healing experience—a sound massage for the body and mind that resonates with you on a cellular level, affecting how you feel and function. The Gong generates reinforced universal vibrations, with the ability to prompt damaged human DNA strands to repair themselves and reorganize our brain's molecular structure and pathways. By altering brain waves from Beta (waking state) to Theta and Delta (deep meditation), the sound and vibration of the Gong create deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and healing.

Simply lie down, relax, and let the sound waves wash over you as the vibrational frequency of the Gong works its magic.
